Bhutan also called "Druk-yul" or the land of the
thunder dragon is a land steeped in religion.
Ancient Dzongs (fortresses) stand sentinel in clam
valleys through which flow serene Himalayan Rivers.
Perhaps the only country in the world where still
traditions persists. Witness the Tsechus (festivals)
to take in the Buddhist rituals in Bhutan. Trekking

Accessibility:
Druk Air flies scheduled flights to and from Paro to
Delhi & Kolkata (India),
Kathmandu (Nepal), Dhaka (Bangladesh) & Bangkok

It is obligatory to either enter or exit Bhutan by
air. The nearest airports in India are Bagdogra and
Guwahati.
By Road: Phuntsoling and Shandrup Jonkhar bordering
the Indian states of West Bengal and Assam are entry
and exit points.
Visa: Bhutan visa is granted on arrival at Paro
airport or at surface entry points. Passport details
and two copies of photographs are required in
advance to complete the formalities. |
