The Proprietor, Mr. Namgyal P. Sherpa has been in the adventure tour business since 1971, from humble beginning at Nepal, where he gained vast experience in the field. Namgyal Treks & Tours was established in Sikkim in the year 1991.

Namgyal Treks & Tours is the first adventure tour operator to organize high altitude Green Lake Trek in North Sikkim and to handle the mountaineering expeditions to Tent Peak in 1995 and Mt. Kanchendzonga in 2000.

Namgyal Treks & Tours is registered with the State Government of Sikkim, and recognized by the Tourism Department, Government of Sikkim. It is recognized by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India since 1998. Namgyal Treks & Tours is the founder member of Sikkim Association of Adventure Tour Operators (SAATO), Travel Agents Association of Sikkim.(TAAS), Sikkim Development Foundation (SF). And it is also associated with Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), PATA Green Leaf. And the life member of Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP).
